Service List

   The City of Chetopa provides services as follows:

ELECTRICITY
   The Utility Dept. is comprised of Electric and Water hookups and Sewer and Sanitation.  Utility Deposits must be collected before the hookup date.  If you intend to rent a house the utility deposit of $500.00 is required.  If you purchase a home a deposit of $300.00 is required and proof of purchase.  These fees may be waived with a 1 year credit history from your prior utility provider showing that utility payments were made on time.  For more information call City Complex 620-236-7541.  Range rates may apply if you have one or more of the following: electric range, electric hot water heater or heat pump.

WATER
   Water service within the city limits will be billed with your electric bill or utility bill.  The deposit is figured along with the utility deposit.  Water service outside the city limits will be billed monthly.  The deposit of $100.00 is required at the date of service.

SEWER
   Sewer charges are included in your monthly billing charges.  The rate for sewer usage is charged by gallons of water used.

SANITATION
   Trash service is charged with your monthly utility bill.  Our current rate for residential trash service is $13.42 per billing period.  No building materials may be included in your trash pickup.  Business rates may be higher due to pickup times and amounts.
